BIOGRAPHY
It isn’t about image. It isn’t about entertainment. Great rock ‘n' roll is about movement -- of the heart, the mind, the feet. The May Bees understand this instinctively. (Mark Doyon)

The May Bees is one of those undeniable indie-rock bands. Originated from Arnhem, the Netherlands the band released two remarkable self-financed, independent releases Fake Around EP (2005) and Blame It On The Other Ones (2006).
With these albums the band got excellent reviews, a lot of airplay, ended up high in various charts, played gigs nationwide (including supports for Frank Black, The Drones, Air Traffic, Bettie Serveert and Caesar) and toured successfully through the east coast of the USA and Canada. In 2007 the band signed with American indie label Wampus Multimedia for the release of the first full length Drop Little Boy.
Since the band's formation late 2004, it experienced frequent personnel changes (in February 2008 drummer and co-founder Marzj Simons quited the band), but always maintained the presence of principal songwriter Gregory Orange. The May Bees' work is based on Gregory's love for pure and intense rock songs in the tradition of Guided By Voices, Pixies, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr. and with the spirit of bands like Nirvana, Grandaddy, Radiohead.
